If you are employed, decide Part-time or Distance MBA(BusinessLine Article).  Part time may be a better option for most people. But,  i couldn't choose it, so i went for distance MBA.

Indian MBA Distance Education

Two reasons for choosing Alagappa University MBA Project Management

1. Recognized by Indian and other Universities. So, if at all i wanted to go further in the academic arena, this would be useful. The course contents range from bad to OK.  Institutes like Symbiosis and ICFAI may have excellent MBA programmes, but they are not recognized by AIU - Association of (Mediocre) Indian Universities. UGC recognition is different from that of AIU. One other puzzle is AICTE approval. There's another Distance Education Council (DEC). Dont know why we need them. But i've seen some Annamalai degrees approved by DEC.

2. I'm not interested in HR, Marketing, Finance, blah..blah. IGNOU is a good choice for these specializations   http://www.ignou.ac.in/schools/soms/mbam.htm

In 2006, Anna University started MBA (Distance Education) programs. The issue is they have  7 papers per semester. I dont know if anyone who's working full-time can spend so much time in preparing for 7 papers. http://www.annauniv.edu/cde/mba.html

Two universities to avoid like plague are Madurai Kamaraj and Manonmanium sundaranar. Their materials, exams and service are beyond pathetic.

Annamalai MBA , i heard is easy to pass.

The good thing about universities like Alagappa is that there's plenty of duplication of topics within and in-between the papers / courses.  Chances are if you have studied 2 courses, you are half-done for the 3rd paper. The problem in exams is they ask questions from Paper 5 in Paper 2, and vice-versa.

These are the semester-wise topics. The links here are the course materials.  These  materials have copy rights and only for the used of Students  (Isnt that funny - University authors pick up pages from several books / online pages and then say "Private Use Only")
